Out with the old

Capriquarius mission:

Cerebral e raised a very good point (on her lovely recent visit) that she has a one-in, one-out policy for buying new stuffs. I also have militantly Adbusters-lifestyle friends who make me feel very self-indulgent (although being raised by hoarders, I think I've come a long way, but enough therapy for now) - I really do buy an awful lot of fun new shiny things that I don't necessarily need or have room for...but it's fun...

...and edible...

In the interest of boosting up the charity stock what with the apocalyptic weather we've been having all over the country, I've decided to embark on an "Out with the Old" mission - just in time for my birthday - I've officially turned OLD. Better out than in, and so forth.

Here goes... could put an arbitrary timeframe like "for everything bought in the last three months, find something old you don't use anymore and donate it to charity" - I'm just going for "in recent memory, I bought a lot of stuff, I'll give a lot of stuff to the Red Cross bins next to my nearest Coles". This is not an e-mail chain letter, or a stupid self-important Facebook status thinger, but if hey, if you feel like doing it too, all the better, there's some very soggy Queenslanders & Victorians out there who might be grateful...

Out with the old:

"Too tight or just not right? OUT WITH THE OLD!"

  1. for a moment i had a panic that you were getting rid of your polka dot dresses. I would have had to come over and beat some sense into you!
I know i could get rid of more stuff, but a year ago i gave pretty much a third of all my clothes to charity, so i think i'm still ok for a little while!

  2. I had to do that before I moved and again when I went to school. One of the best feelings in the world though is looking into your closet and thinking "I actually want to wear all of the items in here."
