Unbelievably, I never have chewed gum while delivering a keynote speech or eulogy...

Astrology for us children of the 80s over at McSweeney's. So, as I've also never injured any bystanders doing the Centipede, I guess my laundry room must smell like Midori, according to what my favourite 80s band says about me... I've never noticed, I always thought that faint fragrance was eucalyptus wool wash.

P.S. Happy 200th Gloggpost, bitches!

Fugunt!

So this is infinity of infinity-plus-one nightshift cycle. The insanity is creeping up on me in the form of a pesky mosquito that WILL NOT LEAVE ME ALONE. Thank you, Jessica and Heather for your wonderdrug that is gofugyourself - where the crazy is all over everyone else and I can have a giggle and perspective re-set of a night-time.

I am very excited that your new "young adult novel" also expresses the title in funt! cerebral e may well approve, I hope. Speaking of which, how the hell are you, lady? Shall we stage a reading of this literary gem together sometime soon, when we are both in the same room?

Seriously, I was ready to run outside and jump in front of a car just to make this shift less painful, until discovering the new outbreak of "rompaloonacy", at which point I realised, my life really could be worse.

Nerdyfunt

I remember when the slides down the microscope started swimming around, making shapes & telling me to do things I didn't want to. Like study.

"Think Tom Waits in a tutu..."

Rapskallion, my new favourite Carnivaleque Cabaret band... so sad I just missed their Spiegeltent show. Work is such a nuisance sometimes!

Out with the old

Capriquarius mission:

Cerebral e raised a very good point (on her lovely recent visit) that she has a one-in, one-out policy for buying new stuffs. I also have militantly Adbusters-lifestyle friends who make me feel very self-indulgent (although being raised by hoarders, I think I've come a long way, but enough therapy for now) - I really do buy an awful lot of fun new shiny things that I don't necessarily need or have room for...but it's fun...

...and edible...

In the interest of boosting up the charity stock what with the apocalyptic weather we've been having all over the country, I've decided to embark on an "Out with the Old" mission - just in time for my birthday - I've officially turned OLD. Better out than in, and so forth.

Here goes... could put an arbitrary timeframe like "for everything bought in the last three months, find something old you don't use anymore and donate it to charity" - I'm just going for "in recent memory, I bought a lot of stuff, I'll give a lot of stuff to the Red Cross bins next to my nearest Coles". This is not an e-mail chain letter, or a stupid self-important Facebook status thinger, but if hey, if you feel like doing it too, all the better, there's some very soggy Queenslanders & Victorians out there who might be grateful...

"Wondering why one's friends chose to marry the people they did is unprofitable, but recurrent. One could so often have done so much better for them. For instance, I could think of three girls who would have been better for Harold, in their different ways; one would have pushed him, another would have looked after him, the third would have amused him. It is true that they were none of them quite as decorative as Tuny, but that's not - well, it's something like the difference between the room you live in and the one at the Ideal Home Exhibition. However, there it was, and, as Phyllis said, a girl who makes good with a name like Petunia must at least have something her parents didn't have."
